Haven't looked at the build thread but is that an LSJ? Or what?

Not sure, I haven't checked. It could be a LNF too.

At a glance and listen, I don't tihnk its the LNF, the LNF looks considerably different from the LSJ, and I know the LSJ is a little easier to deal with...

my LNF is a nightmare...

I ain't a specialist on GM engines. I'm gonna trust you on that! lol. I just thought it could be a LNF since it's already Turbocharged. What's wrong with them anyways?

do you think the dealer would freak out when he brings it in for recall work?

The LNF was just to finicky, it is so picky, it has random misfires just cause it doesn't like the way you shifted gears, they have carbon problems as all direct injection engines have.

And anyways the LSJ makes so much more power with a turbo on it, upwards of 900hp I think is the highest out there. The LNF peaks at around the low 800s or something.

The LSJ takes a turbo real easy, swap the intake mani, and exhaust mani, put the turbo the piping and all the other bits there, tune it and BAM all set and stock internals are decently strong too.

I've only seen the LDK (the engine that replaced the LNF which is technically what I have in my car now) break rods like crazy, in three pieces minimum

So if I ever need to look at a Cobalt SS, it would be best to get the supercharged version?

Without a doubt, its hard to gind an LNF cobalt anyways 1500 per year for like 2 and a half years, plus almost none of them have the original engine....

The LSJ's are super common, and a good chuink are trubo swapped already and putting down some insane power, find one with the G85 package, LSD and Recaro Seats, those are slightly more rare but the best ones made.

All LNF's have the LSD and recaros, they had few options, mine is loaded to the teeth so I managed to get lucky, the biggest issue with the lnf is the fuel system, the cylinder on the end of the rail leans out and blows rings, just google LNF ringland failure.

What about Solstice GXPs and Sky Redlines? Same issue I guess?

All LNF's have the same issues, but I would gladly own the Solstice or Redline, with the GM Stage 1 tune they were lifting front wheels into second gear...

That is one nutty J body. That is barely a Cavalier anymore, it's more like a go kart. WOW!
